Friday in the Sixth Week of Easter |
John 16:20-23
Jesus said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy. When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world. So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for a special intention.
There is a great error when we seek God's consolation in worldly "success." If we used this as our guide, then we can easily fall into the lures of Satan.
Our consolation is doing The Father's will.
It may not seem like it, especially when we look at others around us and see that they have that "worldly success" that we desire. Is it wrong to have that desire? No. Is it something that we can offer to God so that we can desire obedience to The Father? Yes. Is it a sacrifice that we can offer to God as a bouquet that's fragrance is pleasing to Him? Yes.
Let us rejoice in doing The Father's will. Let us not grow weary in this "valley of tears" but rather let us give right praise to The Father through our sacrifice and obedience. Take care and God Bless.
