Amos 5:14-15, 21-24??Seek good and not evil,?that you may live;?Then truly will the LORD, the God of hosts,?be with you as you claim!?Hate evil and love good,?and let justice prevail at the gate;?Then it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts,?will have pity on the remnant of Joseph.??I hate, I spurn your feasts, says the LORD,?I take no pleasure in your solemnities;?Your cereal offerings I will not accept,?nor consider your stall-fed peace offerings.?Away with your noisy songs!?I will not listen to the melodies of your harps.?But if you would offer me burnt offerings,?then let justice surge like water,?and goodness like an unfailing stream.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those the conversion of North Korea.
I think that I'd like to create a new term: plastic surgery Christian. I hope I don't have to explain myself...
Instead of taking that route, though, let's take a look at the "noisy song". I recently played a demo for a friend of mine who said, after hearing the song, "sure, it has a groove, but the words gets lost in the music." He wanted to hear what was at the heart of the song, and so does God. We must let our acts of charity reflect the conversion of our hearts, instead of letting our acts of charity hide what we fear to let go in our hearts.
Let us be a people that gives praise to God through true freedom versus fear. Take care and God Bless.
