Matthew 18:1-5, 10
The disciples approached Jesus and said, "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?" He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
I remember a time when I was a child when I tried to steal what I thought was a Bible from a cousin's house. I thought that if I had a Bible, I would gain some special power or great wisdom.
It contains those things and even more; much more beyond what my imagination allowed me to think at the time.
At that time, I was fully dependent on my parents. I never knew what was going on behind the scenes. I never knew what kind of stress they endured to make sure I was able to be a child.
I can't imagine what God is doing for me in my life today. All I can do is trust that what He is giving me and what He is allowing me to go through are all for my own holiness.
Lord, I pray for the humility receive Your blessings so that I may be great in You. Take care and God Bless.
