Luke 21: 12-19

Jesus said to the crowd: "They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of the soul of Ethan Mills.

"It will lead to your giving testimony ..."

Look at all the things that we have to go through in order to give our testimony to Christ. He does not call us to do anything that He Himself did not do. He was seized. He was persecuted. He did all these things, and through our "enduring the test" for the sake of Christ, we will give testimony to The One Who has endured these things for us.

When I was on retreat, I was inspired to compose a prayer from my heart reminding me that suffering is the school where our faith matures.

Lord Jesus,
allow Your disciple to enter into the school of faith.
As the Blessed Virgin Mary knew of Your coming resurrection,
her joy was not complete
until she fully participated in Your suffering.
It is only through my participation in suffering,
the school of faith,
that i will be able to receive the joy of Your glory.
I ask the through Jesus Christ, my Lord,
through the Immaculate Conception. Amen.

Take care and God Bless!
