Luke 11:29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are suffering from depression.
There are moments when we "renew" our commitment to The Lord. Sometimes it comes through tragedy while other times it comes after an intense spiritual moment.
When Jonah came to Nineveh, everyone repented because they didn't want The Lord to destroy them. It was a moment that made them "renew" their commitment to The Lord.
When Jesus came to us, He doesn't offer us destruction but salvation. Through His obedience to The Father and His love for us, He gave His life so that we may constantly, throughout time, give our "renewal" of our commitment to Him.
Let us bear our sufferings with dignity because Christ did the same. Let us unite our sufferings with His so that through His sacrifice, we may be "renewed." Take care and God Bless.
