Matthew 13:36-43

Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field." He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the Kingdom. The weeds are the children of the Evil One, and the enemy who sows them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Just as weeds are collected and burned up with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his Kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those discerning their vocation, for fortitude and humility in listening to God's call.

In The Matrix, Neo has the choice to swallow the blue pill and remember nothing or he could swallow the red pill and find out about The Matrix.

So often, we would rather swallow the blue pill rather than live with the responsibility of knowing God's truth. When I think about the disciples today, asking for Christ to open up the parable of the seeds and the sower, I think about our attitudes today and how we think that we have everything figured out. Sometimes, I think that we are scared to hear Christ's truth because it means that we will never be the same.

The truth is that we will never be the same and we will be in for some trials. Yet, isn't it better to know that the sufferings we endure for the Gospel are united to the sufferings of Christ? Today, let us humbly ask Christ to open up His will for each of us in our own lives. Let's ask Christ for the red pill. Take care and God Bless.
