Isaiah 7:10-14
The LORD spoke to Ahaz:
Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God;
let it be deep as the nether world, or high as the sky!
But Ahaz answered,
"I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!"
Then Isaiah said:
Listen, O house of David!
Is it not enough for you to weary men,
must you also weary my God?
Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and shall name him Emmanuel.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the families of missing children, that they will be comforted during this hard time of the year.
Talk about a sign that is as deep as the nether world and high as the sky! Just as The Lord asks Ahaz, so we can put our faith and prayers in God that His goodness is as "deep as the nether world and as high as the sky!"
Even beyond that, we can look at our own sins that may seem "as deep as the nether world" and ask Our Lord to heal those wounds that are so deep. We can offer our desires that may seem "as high as the sky" to Him so that we may not grow weary in our own worry and our pursuit of "happiness".
Know that God is "deeper than the nether world and higher that the sky" so that you may be a sign of God's goodness working in you. Take care and God Bless.
