Acts 4:32-37
The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the Apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put them at the feet of the Apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need.
Thus Joseph, also named by the Apostles Barnabas (which is translated "son of encouragement"), a Levite, a Cypriot by birth, sold a piece of property that he owned, then brought the money and put it at the feet of the Apostles.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for more people to be educated on the harmful effects of contraception.
There was a time when being a Christian was a truly a radical thing. Today's reading is a great example to how radical our roots are.
Being a Christian means so much more than going to Church. It means so much more than putting in a few dollars on Sundays during the preparation of the gifts. Being a Christian means loving God above all treasure and loving your neighbor (and providing for your neighbor) as you would love (and provide) for yourself. Have we forgotten how radical we need to be?
I don't know how God is calling you, but I know that He calls you to trust in Him, and your offerings will be multiplied seven-fold. We are part of a great family, The Church. Let us live as Her children. Take care and God Bless.
