Galatians 5:1-6
Brothers and sisters: For freedom Christ set us free; so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.
It is I, Paul, who am telling you that if you have yourselves circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. Once again I declare to every man who has himself circumcised that he is bound to observe the entire law. You are separated from Christ, you who are trying to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we await the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who suffer from hunger today.
Wrath vs. Meekness
Some people look at sitting in traffic as being trapped. It's a little form of slavery that keeps us from the freedom on driving fast or getting to where we need to be on time.
I've had my experiences sitting in traffic. Unfortunately, my experience has been different: I was a slave to my own anger that has escalated to wrath. There is no sense of hope. There is no faith in God. There is definitely no room for love. There is just pure, blind hatred.
Meek (adj.) - Showing patience and humility; gentle.
There is something that can be said about being meek. There is a dignity in being patient and humble. There is something different about not letting your emotions blind you from God's goodness. There is something heroic about being your wrongs with humility. There is something liberating about patience. Some of us are slaves to our own anger.
Christ was never a slave to his own anger.
Rather, Christ shows us true meekness, and tells us that we are blessed in being meek. It is a meekness that trusts in Our Lord alone, and a meekness that draws us away from the slavery of wrath (a mortal sin). Take care and God Bless.
