Luke 6:36-38
Jesus said to his disciples: "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
"Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are unemployed.
Mine.
I hate to admit it, but deep down inside, I hold onto things. I hold onto "why does my neighbor park so close to my car?" Other times, I hold onto, "I'm just not ready to forgive this person for what they did to me."
It's the same thing when I think of what drives me to hold onto my "possessions": fear. It is my fear that doesn't want to forgive because I may get hurt again. It is fear my that would rather judge or condemn someone because I feel insecure in who God made me to be.
As a good parent, God wants to take those things away from me that are going to hurt me. A concerned parent wouldn't let a child walk around with a knife in their hands.
So Lord, I come before You once again,
asking that you take from me
those things that are poisonous,
those things that are harmful,
and those things that are too heavy for me.
Take away the things I cannot let go
and use them for Your glory.
Take care and God Bless.
