Matthew 7: 21-29
Jesus said to his disciples: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?' Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.'
"Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined."
When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

Today's prayer intention - In thanksgiving for blessings.
First of all, I apologize for the past week and a half of no reflections. We went on a cruise in Alaska for my family vacation.
It's getting to be crunch time for the wedding and we still have to send out invitations. We finally got through our family members, but now comes the part in which we have to start making a list of friends we are going to invite to the dinner. We want people to come for the Mass and for the dancing afterwards, but our numbers for the dinner are going to be tight.
We started talking about a "non-negotiable" list of people we want to invite. It's good think about the people who I know and feel known by. I think about those who have been there when I was going through rough times. I think about those who I have served with and prayed with. I think about those who have shared their cross with me.
Does Christ know you? Is that "knowledge" strong and sturdy like rock or shifty like the sands? Is "knowing" Him a matter of convenience and is His "knowledge" of what you share and offer something that is on your terms?
It makes me think of the sacrament of reconciliation. It's interesting when you think about it because in the end, your sins are no longer when it is offered to Christ. Then, it is you that Christ knows.
May we receive His grace and forgiveness so that we may be known to Our Lord. Take care and God Bless.
