Mark 3:31-35
The mother of Jesus and his brothers arrived at the house. Standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him. A crowd seated around him told him, "Your mother and your brothers and your sisters are outside asking for you." But he said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the Middle East.
Can you imagine what it must have been like to raise the Son of God? What would it have been like to watch Him grow from being an infant to being an adult Who healed the blind and turned water to wine? Can you imagine being so close to God as a mother?
Jesus wants us to be close to Him, and to do so, we must come to know what it means to say "yes" to The Father's will. We must know what it means to let our souls proclaim His greatness. In a way, we must come to know what it means to die to self. It's what parents do for their children.
My parents have made great sacrifices so that I could live my life with a certain freedom. They gave up a lot so that we can experience that freedom. In the same way, we can be close to Christ through that same sacrifice so that He can be free to work and move in us.
Let us give our "yes" to God so that we can grow in intimacy and love with Him. Take care and God Bless.
