Jeremiah 20:10-13

I hear the whisperings of many: "Terror on every side! Denounce! let us denounce him!" All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine. "Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him." But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion. O LORD of hosts, you who test the just, who probe mind and heart, Let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause. Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD, For he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wicked!

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention:
"The Pope's general prayer intention is: 'That the individual, social and political rights of women may be respected in every nation.' His missionary intention is: 'That the Church in China may carry out its evangelizing mission serenely and in full freedom.'"

Here in America, I don't know what it's like to be persecuted for my faith. I may get weird looks or challenging remarks said my way, but I don't have the threat of death or physical torture waiting for me.

Yet, my faith is still shaken by the little events that go on in my life.

We may not be fed to lions, but we must always be aware that our faith is being tested in fire. We must still remember to be "poor in spirit" even though we live in a land that is rich. We must remember this, because we still need God to be Our Savior. Take care and God Bless.
