Matthew 5:17-19
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the leaders of nations, that they may be guided by The Lord Who gave them their place of leadership.
Greatness requires that we don't live for ourselves. Rather, greatness requires that we give our lives.
This means of achieving greatness is tough because it goes against our "nature," yet by virtue of Who we are made in the image and likeness of, it is our true nature. It's a struggle. It's a form of suffering that unites us with Christ's sufferings on the cross.
We all have crosses that we are bearing. Be strengthened by the words of Christ today Who encourages us to strive for obedience so that we can be "great" in His eyes through our obedience to Him through our suffering. Take care and God Bless.
