Zechariah 8: 20-23
Thus says the LORD of hosts:
There shall yet come peoples,
the inhabitants of many cities;
and the inhabitants of one city shall approach those of another,
and say, "Come! let us go to implore the favor of the LORD";
and, "I too will go to seek the LORD."
Many peoples and strong nations shall come
to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem
and to implore the favor of the LORD.
Thus says the LORD of hosts:
In those days ten men of every nationality,
speaking different tongues, shall take hold,
yes, take hold of every Jew by the edge of his garment and say,
"Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who oppressed through domestic violence, that they may come to know their dignity through Our Lord.
"... and when you're up you're up... and when you're down you're down... and when you're only half way up you're neither up nor down."
The desire to seek the Lord is within all of us. Sometimes, though, that desire is hidden and seems far away. The desire is drowned out by other desires that tempt us.
It's easy to say that our only desire should be to be with the Lord and to seek the Lord. Unfortunately, our hearts are not pure, and our desires turn from being with the Lord to other things.
If we want to simplify our lives, then we must desire one thing: to be with The Lord. This is the simplicity that we are all called to. We must all strive for this simplicity: to love The Lord with our whole being. Let us all strive for this simplicity. This desire goes far beyond the desire to be loved. This desire goes far beyond the desire for joy. This desire goes far beyond the desire for peace. This desire will bear all these fruits and so much more. Take care and God Bless.
