Luke 17:11-19

As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!" And when he saw them, he said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?" Then he said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for Masami Nishimura, for healing from a brain virus and for thanksgiving on his recovery.

There is a friend of mine, George, who was in a motorcycle accident a few weeks ago. He was hit by a truck, he wasn't wearing a helmet and the only injuries he walked away with was broken bones. His head ended up in a bush, so there was on stitches that were needed for the cuts. In my eyes, it was an act of God.

When I went to visit him a few days later, he was doing great (for a person hit by a truck while riding a motorcycle). I looked at a card from a woman who was there at the accident, and she talked about how much of an act of God it was that he was alive. George is someone whose family went to church, but he didn't. In a discussion once with him, he thought that believing in God was something that people made up in order to feel secure.

I haven't talked to him lately. Hopefully, though, he walks away from this accident as the Samaritan versus the other nine. Hopefully, we will all see how much good God has done for us in our lives and return to God in thanksgiving. Take care and God Bless.
