John 1:35-42
John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God." The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah," which is translated Christ. Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas," which is translated Peter.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are unemployed that they may find hope in God's abundance.
Are you listening to me?
Have you ever asked that question? Have you ever thought to yourself that nobody understands you? Do you wish that there was someone who can see who you are?
Is it that deep down inside, you're looking for that "affirmation" that can only come from someone else "knowing" who you are?
When Jesus "affirms" Simon in today's reading, we all know that Jesus knows Simon better than he knows himself. What does that mean for us? Not a whole lot if you don't acknowledge that God has complete faith in you or if you fail to acknowledge that God is "allowing" the things in your life because He believes in you.
Today, accept God's affirmation of you in who HE made you to be. Accept His vote of confidence in you in the trials He is allowing in your life. Accept his trust in you in the breath you have today.
Today, brothers and sisters, is God's affirmation to the goodness in you that you don't see. Take care and God Bless.
