Luke 10: 13-16

Jesus said to them, "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. And as for you, Capernaum, 'Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.' Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those who are unemployed.

For the month of October, I truly wanted to try to explore what it means to be a child of God. Upon reading today's reading, I thought that it was a strange reading to start off with. Well, that was until I read the line:

"Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me."

We must act in union with Christ so that what we offer is truly an opportunity for others to encounter Christ. Yet, think about the world we live in. How many people resort to friendships and relationships on a "virtual / txt msg" level? Why? I know that I fear being rejected, and so a lot of times I will keep my interactions with others very *safe.* Sometimes, to a fault to where I miss many opportunities to offer Christ when it comes to loving my friends and family through speaking the truth.

Which makes me wonder if I'm the one who is rejecting Christ? If so, am I rejecting Him because I want to be comfortable? Am I rejecting Him because I have not truly embraced what it means to be a child of God?

Let us not be the ones Christ says "woe" to. Rather, let us be the ones who listens so that we will not be the ones who rejects Our Blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. Take care and God Bless.
