Hebrews 12:1-4
Brothers and sisters: Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him Jesus endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God. Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the closure of abortion clinics and for an end to the lies spread through Planned Parenthood.
When we think of the struggles and trials we endure, how often do we put them in light of the last sentence of today's reading?
How many burdens do we hold on to? How many false God's do we justify? I can think of many in my own life. I can think of many things that I can't let go of; the things that bind me from hoping for our eternal home in Heaven.
There was a joy that lay ahead of Christ so much so that He endured The Cross and "shed blood." There's a joy that God intends for us. What is God calling you to leave at the foot of His Most Beautiful Cross in order that you may experience His joy? Take care and God Bless.
