Thursday of the Third Week of Easter
John 6: 44-51

Jesus said to the crowds: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. It is written in the prophets: 'They shall all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those who are preparing for marriage.

Bottles with sand are fascinating. I wonder if people do this as a reminder of the beach ... a little piece of paradise that they can have with them. I wonder if it is a good reminder that one day they would like to go back to the beach. It is just a little bit of sand from a vast shoreline of the ocean, but it is often just enough to remind you of that longing.

In this Easter season, it's wonderful to see so many receive the Eucharist for the first time. I pray that they continue to desire to receive His Body and His Blood.

We know that the Eucharist we receive is the bread that comes came down from heaven. What a gift to receive Jesus and to be in union with Him! What a gift to know that He desires eternal union with us in heaven!

It makes sense, then, as to why those who eat His Flesh and drink His Blood will live forever.

I hope that we would all want to be with Christ in Heaven. We have the Bread come down from Heaven and as we adore Him and as we receive Him, may be strengthened in our longing to be with Him.

Take care and God Bless.
