John 6: 22-29

[After Jesus had fed the five thousand men, his disciples saw him walking on the sea.] The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat, but only his disciples had left. Other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they had eaten the bread when the Lord gave thanks. When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. And when they found him across the sea they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?" Jesus answered them and said, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal." So they said to him, "What can we do to accomplish the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent."

Dawg's thought:

I don't have much batter left on my laptop, so unfortunately this reflection must be short.

We are all seeking Christ in some form or another. In my interactions with people this weekend, I noticed that every human being has the need to be loved. This is why it is so important to see your cross as an act of love by God. This is why it is important to carry your cross with love. This is why it is important to deny yourself knowing it is a loving act.

We cannot possibly see this as a loving act if we do not believe in the death and ressurection of Our Lord!

In believing in the death and ressurection of Our Lord, we can see that God has a greater purpose beyond our trials that is beyond the realm of time (so, of course, seeing that it's beyond the realm of time, we may not understand it now, but that's why we have been given faith, hope and love... greater gifts compared to understanding the trials of this day). In believing in the death and ressurection of Our Lord, we can see the beauty of every human creature (because God died for all of creation, and to deny mercy on your neighbor is a slap in the face of Jesus, who hung on the cross for your neighbor as well).

We all have different crosses to bear that nobody else can carry. I look at people who struggle with drug addictions, prostitution and mental illness and I realized that I could never bear that cross. God, in His great wisdom, knew that I would be lost if I had to struggle with that great of a cross. Yet, in God's wisdom, if they still have breath, they still have hope. In the light of Christ's crucifixion, we can see this. In light of Christ's crucifixion, we know that their cross will lead them to glory as well. In light of Christ's crucifixion, we know that all trials are of love, and God does indeed love us. Take care and God Bless.
