Jeremiah 31:31-34

The days are coming, says the LORD,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel
and the house of Judah.
It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers:
the day I took them by the hand
to lead them forth from the land of Egypt;
for they broke my covenant,
and I had to show myself their master, says the LORD.
But this is the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD.
I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts;
I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
No longer will they have need to teach their friends and relatives
how to know the LORD.
All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD,
for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who suffer from cancer.

Three qualities in the new covenant are different from the old:

1. It will not be broken, it will last forever.
2. It will be written in the heart, and not on tablets of stone.
3. There will be a greater knowledge of God to all people.

This covenant addresses three fears:

1. God will never forsake us.
2. We will know the ways of The Lord.
3. There is nobody who cannot come to know The Lord.

The last line, though, is the line I love:

"I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more."

Sin is the only thing that can separate us from God, and in the last line, God tells us how He will show us how much He love us: He will forgive our sins and remember them no more. Jesus Christ, the covenant that will last forever, came so that we can follow Him, know Him and, the part I love the most about Him... be with Him. Take care and God Bless.
