Luke 21:29-33
Jesus told his disciples a parable. "Consider the fig tree and all the other trees. When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near; in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who have been affected by the typhoon in the Philippines.
Do you see the signs? They're everywhere.
I see the signs in others sufferings. I see the signs in my own sufferings. I see the signs in other's gifts. I see the signs in the blessings that I have received.
One day, the purification we endure in this "vale of tears" and the consolation we receive from The Almighty will point us to heaven.
We can ignore the signs. We can numb the ache of our hearts. We can hold onto the gifts that we have been given. We can turn our hearts from heaven if we fail to follow the signs.
To follow the signs we need wisdom, knowledge, fortitude, piety, counsel, understand and awe before Our God (once again, gifts from God through The Holy Spirit). Without these gifts, it's hard to read the signs.
Come, Holy Spirit, that we may see the signs so that we may desire the things that will not pass away. Take care and God Bless.
