Psalm 148:1-2, 11-12, 13, 14
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Praise the LORD from the heavens;
praise him in the heights.
Praise him, all you his angels;
praise him, all you his hosts.
Let the kings of the earth and all peoples,
the princes and all the judges of the earth,
Young men too, and maidens,
old men and boys.
Praise the name of the LORD,
for his name alone is exalted;
His majesty is above earth and heaven.
He has lifted up the horn of his people;
Be this his praise from all his faithful ones,
from the children of Israel, the people close to him.
Alleluia.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the safety of those who are traveling.
The refrain from today's psalm response is "Heaven and earth are full of Your glory." It is hard to imagine places of great darkness being full of God's glory. It is hard to imagine places of dire poverty being full of God's glory. It's hard to imagine places of persecution being full of God's glory.
Yet, in these places, God exists and will always exist. His glory is beyond the injustice of fearful human hearts. His glory is beyond the darkest regions of our own fearful hearts. He is beyond our despair, and that is the hope we hold onto in our own darkness.
So praise The Lord all you who are poor, fearful and despairing! Trust in The Lord's love for you and abandon yourself to His grace and His mercy. Take care and God Bless.
