Philipians 1:1-11
Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the holy ones in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you, because of your partnership for the Gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right that I should think this way about all of you, because I hold you in my heart, you who are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Gospel. For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more in knowledge and every kind of perception, to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intentions (requests from friends):
- I need to ask you all to add our friend Becky and her unborn baby to the prayer chain. Becky was admitted to the hospital last night with kidney problems. If her protien levels do not drop or stabilize soon, they will need to induce labor, and she is only 30 weeks along. (from Dianne)
- I have just learned that the Lord has sent a kiss from His Cross to my family, most especially to my mom. She has breast cancer. At this point there are no details with regard to treatment options, prognosis, etc. I ask for your prayers. (from St. Maureen)
- Pray for my aunt Colleen (who has cancer). She... has received a somewhat more optimistic prognosis than the original. Please keep her in your prayers as she has surgery coming up soon, after which we'll know more about what to expect. Also, please keep my mom in your prayers as she has had a tough recovery from her knee problems and isn't getting around like she used to. These are two wonderful, courageous women whom I love and admire and, like many others, am grateful to have them in my life. So, thanks for the prayers. (from Steve)
- I'd like to ask for prayers for those I know who are struggling with cancer: my ex-girlfriend's mom, Linda Zerangue, and for my roommates dad, who was just admitted into the hospital. (from me)
And finally, for today's prayer reflection, I'd like to pray "that your love may increase ever more and more in knowledge and every kind of perception, to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God."
Take care and God Bless.
