Mark 10:28-31
Peter began to say to Jesus, "We have given up everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come. But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the promotion of the culture of life.
It's easy to think of giving up the things that we have, but for many of us, we also have to give up the things we don't have. Giving up on the things we "aspire to have" or "the dreams we work hard to achieve" can be one of the best ways we can live out today's reading. In doing this, we can look at this world where "excess" is attractive and see how Satan has turned "greed" into "freedom", which is funny, because it is really slavery. God has already given you the gift of freedom: free will. Use your gift wisely. Take care and God Bless.
