Ash Wednesday
Joel 2:12-14

Even now, says the LORD,
return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, and weeping, and mourning;
Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the LORD, your God.
For gracious and merciful is he,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and relenting in punishment.
Perhaps he will again relent
and leave behind him a blessing,
Offerings and libations
for the LORD, your God.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for a special intention.

Happy Ash Wednesday! As we enter into the season of Lent, we are called to fast and pray. Litugically, we refrain from "Gloria" and the "Alleluia" during the celebration of the mass.

Now's the time when we hear people ask each other, "what are you giving up for Lent?" Today's reading challenges us to look are more than just "what are you giving up for Lent?" It is the deep calling of The Lover to His beloved.

So I ask you today is not what are you giving up but Who are you giving your heart to for life? Bring your struggles and your vices and offer them up to Our Lord so that He may sanctify us. Take care and God Bless.
