Luke 19:45-48
Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things, saying to them, "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." And every day he was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for Cafe Fiat and the the re-opening process.
This weekend I'm going to Las Vegas, a city I abosolutely dread. I was asked to be the best man in my friend's wedding, so that makes it bittersweet.
I bring this up during today's reflection because my memories of the city reminds me of what it might have looked like in the temple. The "thieves" to a place to worship God and turned it into a place to worship greed. My memories of Las Vegas is a place to worship the other deadly sins as well... take your pick at any one of them.
We can work toward change, but as with everything, how is your "temple"? Is it a place of prayer? It is a place where you revere The Lord? Or is it time to ask God to "clean house" within you so that you may go forth proclaiming God's goodness in places where God is not worshiped, but profained. Take care and God Bless.
