Mark 1: 40-45

A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said, "If you wish, you can make me clean." Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched the leper, and said to him, "I do will it. Be made clean." The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean. Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once. Then he said to him, "See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them." The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the unemployed, that they may find work.

"If you wish, you can make me clean."

In this simple, beautiful line, we hear a man who is an outcast who comes to The Lord with full trust and confidence. In our times of struggle and joy, our hearts must be ready to give The Lord permission to purify and prepare us. The leper wouldn't have come to Jesus without his leprosy.

We may not have leprosy, but we all have sin, and therefore we all are in need of God's mercy and grace. If you, by brothers and sisters, wish, Our Lord Jesus Christ wants to make you clean. Yet, if you are unwilling to sign the consent form, Our Lord cannot operate on you. So, here is your consent form:

**
Name:
Date of Birth:

Please answer the following questions below truthfully. Please note that you may need to fill this sheet out again on a regular basis as treatment for your symptoms requires constant obedience and humility.

1. How has you prayer life been in the past month? Have you set time aside to pray? What forms of prayer have you incorporated to keep you rooted in Our Lord?

2. Do you have any friends or family you regularly discuss your faith journey with? Are they willing to challenge you to grow in holiness? Does their example challenge you to grow closer to God?

3. Are you committed to no only reading the sacred scriptures, but also studying the sacred scriptures? What have you learned from your reading of the sacred scriptures in the past month?

4. Do you regularly receive the sacraments? When was the last time you received the sacrament of reconciliation? When was the last time you received Our Lord in The Eucharist?

I, (your name here), hereby states that the above information is accurate and truthful. I agree improving each of the items stated above through God's grace and perseverance.

I, therefore, now do once again renounce Satan; I renounce all his works; I renounce all his allurements.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born into this world and who suffered and died for my sins and rose again. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Having been buried with Christ unto death and raised up with him unto a new life, I promise to live no longer for myself or for that world which is the enemy of God but for him who died for me and rose again, serving God, my heavenly Father, faithfully and unto death in the holy Catholic Church.
Taught by our Savior's command and formed by the word of God, I now dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
