Mark 8:14-21
The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, and they had only one loaf with them in the boat. Jesus enjoined them, "Watch out, guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod." They concluded among themselves that it was because they had no bread. When he became aware of this he said to them, "Why do you conclude that it is because you have no bread? Do you not yet understand or comprehend? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear? And do you not remember, when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many wicker baskets full of fragments you picked up?" They answered him, "Twelve." "When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many full baskets of fragments did you pick up?" They answered him, "Seven." He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those affected by the earthquake in China.
God was able to respond to the disciples through their weakness.
One of the things I truly struggle with is the ability to be humble enough to recognize that I don't know something. Even though in my mind I know that God knows everything, including my weaknesses, there is that fear of being "weak."
God wants to reveal Himself to each of us. How else can we explain the incarnation of Jesus Christ and the decent of The Holy Spirit?
So, as Jesus asks the question, "Do you still not understand," I know that He is not only speaking to the disciples. He speaks to each of us, knowing that He wants to reveal Himself in a profound way to each of us. Do not hide your fears and weaknesses from Him. Instead, bring it to Him in humility and a desire for Him to reveal Himself to you this day. Take care and God Bless.
