Matthew 7:7-12
Jesus said to his disciples: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asked for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asked for a fish? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
"Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for a friend of mine's father who suffered a major stroke a month ago.
Lord, make my heart still. It's been tough trying to rely on You when I'm so used to relying on myself. It's hard giving up control to You, O Lord.
So, I ask today that You increase in me Your gift of faith so that I may trust in Your great love for me. I know that in today's reading, You tell us that whoever asks receives. This is my request, Lord.
Increase Your faith in me for lately life's struggles have been to much to bear... so much so that I have lost sight of Your faithfulness to me and Your abundant mercy. Increase Your faith in me, Lord, for I long for You.
Amen.
