Luke 10:1-9

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves. Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way. Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this household.' If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves payment. Do not move about from one house to another. Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, 'The Kingdom of God is at hand for you.'"

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for healing for those who sick.

What does it mean to trust in God?

As I read through today's reading, I thought of a quote from St. Augustine: Work as if everything depends on you, pray as if everything depends on God.

Lately, I've been more of a "work as if everything depends on you, pray when you can" kind of guy. That somehow makes me ask myself the question: do I truly trust in God. As I write these reflections, am I praying as if everything depends on God? Am I offering up the stresses of my day? Am I offering up the questions and doubts of my mind and heart? In other words, what do I entrust in Him?

I'm sure the disciples were stress out about where they were going to eat and sleep. Jesus reminds them that it is all in God's hands, but that they have been called to be the laborers that does the will of The Father.

So, let us trust everything and everyone in our lives to God, Whom created all things. Take care and God Bless.
