Mark 2:18-22
The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast. People came to Jesus and objected, "Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day. No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak. If he does, its fullness pulls away, the new from the old, and the tear gets worse. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for a man who was at noon mass.
During the prayer intentions today, a man prayed for an end to President Bush, "because he is killing our soldiers." The priest responded, saying, "I will not pray for that prayer intention because I will not pray for an end to anybody. Rather, let us pray that President Bush makes wise decisions of compassion and mercy." Of course, it started an argument at mass, but that was ended as the priest asked for other intentions.
This same man, during communion, approached the Eucharistic minister and began talking about how he was molested as a child when he was 5 years old in the confessional. He left after receiving The Eucharist.
Please pray for him, because if what says is true, please pray for healing in his heart. Please pray The Eucharist he received will heal the hurt he has been dealing with for so many years. We should also pray for all victims of child abuse and for the healing for pedophiles, that their hearts are open to God's grace.
Also, let us pray for this week as Christians all over the world pray for the unity of all Christians. May we truly be one body in Christ. Take care and God Bless.
