Micah 7:14-15, 18-20
Shepherd your people with your staff,
the flock of your inheritance,
That dwells apart in a woodland,
in the midst of Carmel.
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
as in the days of old;
As in the days when you came from the land of Egypt,
show us wonderful signs.
Who is there like you, the God who removes guilt
and pardons sin for the remnant of his inheritance;
Who does not persist in anger forever,
but delights rather in clemency,
And will again have compassion on us,
treading underfoot our guilt?
You will cast into the depths of the sea
all our sins;
You will show faithfulness to Jacob,
and grace to Abraham,
As you have sworn to our fathers
from days of old.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for Christ's healing for your own insecurities and doubts.
Special thanks to Dianne for writing Friday's reflection.
God's message of mercy is nothing new. Unfortunately, we're dumb and weak so we need a whole book that reveals God's love for us. Yet, even with scripture reminding us of God's abundant mercy, we continue to act like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In our shame, we hide from God in moments of sin.
God will remain faithful to you, and will continue to show His mercy to you. Regardless of how far you have fallen, His outstretched arms are long enough to draw you into His merciful Sacred Heart.
How willing are you to submit to God? We know about God's love and mercy, so we know that He is willing to forgive us. How long can we continue to hurt Our Lord? How long can we continue turn our face from Him? How willing are you to submit your will to Him?
We must act with urgency. We must act knowing that our acceptance of God's mercy will draw others closer to Him in seeing His goodness in our lives. We must act with urgency because none of us knows the time or day when Our Lord will call us from this life. The time is now and the ocean is wide. Take care and God Bless.
