Luke 19: 41-44

As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of the soul of Anacita Augustine.

Do we recognize the enemies around us? The evil one may not be visible to our eyes, but we can see the fruits of his evil works all around.

Today, is Jesus weeping over you as the evil one has left "one stone upon another within you?"

For the first time, I made my "general confession", which is done when you take a look over the course of your life and confess all the sins that you have done. It was good for me to do, as I began to see patterns of when I become susceptible to the destruction of the walls of grace through my own free will. How many times has Jesus wept over me, knowing that so many times I have chosen my own way of what I thought "peace" was? If I only knew that faithfulness to Christ was the only peace I should have been seeking.

Who alone but the Author of Creation should we turn to so that we can be restored? Who alone but in Jesus Christ should we seek for healing? If it has been a while since you have been to confession, run and turn to Jesus. When you're restored, may the tears of Christ you see be from His joy! Take care and God Bless.
