Mark 3:7-12
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea. Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him. He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, "You are the Son of God." He warned them sternly not to make him known.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the continued efforts to rebuild areas devastated by the tsunamis.
"You are the Son of God."
To many, this would be joyful news. In fact, it was so joyful that a huge crowd gathered to be made clean by "The Spotless Lamb." Even "unclean spirits" cannot help but bow down and proclaim that Jesus is "The Son of God."
We, as humans, have a great privilege: we have the free will to proclaim that Jesus Christ is "The Son of God." We have a great gift in our choice to offer praise to Our Lord. We can choose to give "Glory to The Lamb" with our whole being. We give God praise with our voices and our bodies. We give God praise in the choices that we make. We give God praise in how we love others and proclaim that love in His name. We give God praise in the way we control ourselves. We give God praise in the sufferings we endure. We give God praise in our silent prayer. We give God praise in grand communal prayer.
In all that we do, we must do it in Our Lord's name. If we approach all things in our lives with the same desire for Our Lord as everyone in today's reading shows, we can truly understand what it means to live a holy life "through Him, with Him, and in Him." Take care and God Bless.
