Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus said to his disciples: "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who were recently ordained as priest or who are preparing for ordination, that God may bless their vocation.
I was talking to a friend of mine at lunch and thinking how I used to always think of living my faith in these great moments. I used to think about traveling the world as a missionary, or being a martyr in a place where Christians are persecuted.
I used to think that today's reading was about doing something great for The Lord.
Thankfully, God is merciful. Through the words of St. Therese, we are called to do "small things with great love." As I look at my own life, I can see that this is where I struggle. I struggle to reflect "His mercy" in my day to day struggle. I struggle to shine "His light" when I'm trying so hard to find myself and find out who God made me to be.
Thankfully, God is merciful. Let us glorify God in little things. That is truly great. Take care and God Bless.
