Luke 6: 20-26

Raising his eyes toward his disciples Jesus said:

"Blessed are you who are poor,
for the Kingdom of God is yours.
Blessed are you who are now hungry,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who are now weeping,
for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you,
and when they exclude and insult you,
and denounce your name as evil
on account of the Son of Man.

Rejoice and leap for joy on that day!
Behold, your reward will be great in heaven.
For their ancestors treated the prophets
in the same way.

But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation.
But woe to you who are filled now,
for you will be hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will grieve and weep.
Woe to you when all speak well of you,
for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for your loved ones who have passed away recently.

Alright everyone. Please be seated; the test is about to begin. You can only answer the question yes or no. Okay, here is the question:

Are you struggling?

If you answered yes, may I direct you to your prize behind door number one: being blessed. Believe it or not, your choice to follow God will lead you to suffering, but we must remember to rejoice in our suffering for in these trials we have our true blessing. The stronger your desire is to focus on God, the weaker your focus is on doubting God. This has led to much pain in your life, but what good would your yes be to God if it was easy?

If you answered no, your prize is behind door number two, which you can get yourself through your choice of seeking a life a pleasure: woe. You see, those who live their lives centered on pleasing themselves lives a life not pleasing God, and that is truly a life of woe. It is a life of doubt and fear, and those who do not trust in God will not be able to be saved by God. They only seek to save themselves.

Thank you for your participation in this test; you may pass your papers to the front of the class. You will be tested again for the rest of your life, so please keep your pencils sharpened and your heart focused. Take care and God Bless.
