John 15:9-11

Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.

"I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who suffer with Alzheimer's, and especially for the mother of a friend of mine, and for their families.

I'm sure you've had those moments of joy. After receiving the sacrament of reconciliation... After a very prayerful fast... after receiving Our Lord. We receive glimpses of joy when we discover God's goodness when we interact with Him in prayer and the sacraments.

We can search for many means of peace and we'll follow many wrong turns. There is one place of eternal joy: heaven. Today, be thankful for the "mini" joys we receive now as we practice obedience and sacrifice. Be thankful for these "mini" joys where we truly express our love and devotion to Our Lord by submitting our own free will. These "mini" moments of peace and joy ultimately point to a joy that we may not be ready for: the joy of heaven. Take care and God Bless.
