Luke 11:29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are unemployed.
One of the things I struggle with is how people seem to know (and take interest in) what I do versus who I am.
God has given me many opportunities to be known, from the beginning of time until today. From the Old Testament to the New Testament. He continues to make Himself known in The Word, in the Sacraments, and in everyday life.
Yet, there are those days when my prayer life only seems to revolve around what He can do for me versus rejoicing for being in His presence.
So Lord, my prayer today is not to pray for my desires, but rather that you turn my desire to be to receive You with an open heart. Lord, make my heart worthy to receive You the way you desire to be received.
Take care and God Bless.
