Luke 17:7-10
Jesus said to the Apostles: "Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'? Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'? Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded? So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the repose of the soul of Jim Gass.
You need an answer, you can fire up Google (or Yahoo ... or Bing ...)
You need a quick bite to eat, you can stop by the drive-thru ...
You need to hear a song, you can just download it ...
I'm used to seeing quick results. You do something and you get something in return.
Sometimes I treat God in the same way: I make a sacrifice or offer up a prayer, and I expect to hear a response. If I don't get the desired response, the questions begin.
Yet, the prayers we offer and the sacrifices we make are all a part of our faith journey. We are unprofitable servants who are privileged to serve the Master.
Let us rejoice in the gift we have in serving Him! Take care and God Bless.
