Mark 6: 53-56

After making the crossing to the other side of the sea, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret and tied up there. As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him. They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for Maggie's Place, that they can raise enough money in the upcoming weeks to purchase the house in Tempe.

We are reminded in today's reading that we are all called to serve each other, especially the sick and the outcast. If we are unwilling to bring others to Christ through charity, then you have a far way to go in understanding the Gospel. When you have great news you want to share, you call everybody you know (or at least send a large email) to share your joy. Shouldn't it be the same for our faith?

We must be willing to share our abundance, from the material to the spiritual. We must rejoice in those who are constantly growing in their faith and supporting those who are struggling with their faith. We must be humble enough to serve the poor and challenge the fears of the proud.

Most of all, we must be willing to be in communion with The Body of Christ. Those who are unwilling to be in communion with The Body of Christ will spend their eternity in their choice. Take care and God Bless.
