Matthew 18:12-14
Jesus said to his disciples: "What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for an increased awareness of emotional deprivation disorder.

Infant, Joy of shepherds, have mercy on us.
Infant, Light of the Magi, have mercy on us.

In today's snippet from the Litany of the Infant Jesus, we see two images of Christmas: the shepherds and the Magi. In today's reading, Christ uses the image of a shepherd and how this shepherd would go after those who are lost.
Along with these images of Christmas, we also see two words that point to Who Jesus is: Joy and Light.
As we prepare our hearts for the day we will be with Our Lord, let us be like the shepherds who found joy in a Savior, and the Magi who sought light from an infant. As we prepare our hearts to be with Our Lord, let us be reminded that we must be humble in accepting that Christ is the good shepherd and He comes for us because we are the ones who are lost. Take care and God Bless.
