John 17:11b-19
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying: "Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one. When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely. I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the Evil One. They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for missionaries overseas and for those who are raising money for missionary trips this summer.
Sometimes, I get lost reading through scripture. Today's reading is so beautiful and I get lost reading from line to line. In order to help me process today's reading, I felt inspired to take Christ's prayer for us to The Father and make it a prayer that at least I can pray. Sometimes we get lost when we pray. I know I do, and I am thankful for God's gracious guidance, and for His eternal and unconditional faithfulness and love.
Holy Father, keep us in Your name, through Christ
so that we may one just as You are One,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Christ, protect us and guard us
that we may not be lost to destruction.
We know that You are with The Father in Heaven.
Let our joy be in Your word and Your promise,
Your promise that we will be with in Heaven.
Through You, we do not belong to this world that hates You,
but we belong to You, Lord Jesus.
Keep us from the Evil One,
and consecrate us to Your word,
through Your faithful love for us.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
One God forever and ever, amen.

Take care and God Bless.
