John 19: 30
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, "It is finished." And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for Christ's sacrifice for each of us.
What is the cross that you are bearing? What form of suffering has God blessed you with this day?
As we truly enter into this day, Good Friday, we are reminded of His suffering and ultimately His death. We are reminded of the torture Jesus endured, the long road of suffering He walked, and the physical pain He endured on The Cross. We are reminded of the humiliation He endured, His friends abandoning Him, and mockery from those whom He loved from the beginning of time.
Christ suffered.
As we enter into this day, let us remember that in our own suffering, we share in Christ's suffering. We are unified with Him in His suffering. We are reminded of the dignity we are given in being His disciples.
As we look upon the cross this day, let us remember those who are suffering who have united their suffering with Our Lord's. Let us pray in thanksgiving for their example of the suffering and death we commemorate this day. Let us also remember the cross that we bear ourselves, that through Christ, we will have the strength to endure our suffering with dignity for the sake of The Kingdom. Take care and God Bless.
