Feast of Saints Simon and Jude |
Ephesians 2:19-22
Brothers and sisters: You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the areas in your life where you seek peaceful resolution, that you may have the courage to submit to God's mercy and goodness in those areas.
Today in the Catholic Church, it's the feast day of Saints Simon and Jude. More on them in a minute...
We must always be thankful for those who have made our faith possible. We must be thankful for those who have said "yes" to the Lord as a living testimony to our faith. Christ will always be at the center of our faith, but there are many who have been great roadmaps to God. I'm sure that there are people in your life that you are thankful to for their example.
You must never underestimate your responsibility in being a member of the household of God. We are the ones who have been entrusted with this gift of our faith, and therefore we are the ones who have been called to be a living testimony to our fellow brothers and sisters. It is our responsibility to spread the Good News of our faith to the whole world, just as Christ has commissioned the Apostles before He ascended into heaven. We must be willing to submit our lives over to God in order to spread the Good News, for as today's reading states, "through Him the whole structure is held together and grows."
Saints Simon and Jude suffered martyrdom preaching the Gospel message in Persia. To find out more information about them, please visit:
