2 Timothy 3:10-17
You have followed my teaching, way of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, persecutions that I endured. Yet from all these things the Lord delivered me. In fact, all who want to live religiously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But wicked people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, deceivers and deceived. But you, remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you learned it, and that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the father of a friend of mine. They're investigating two tumors they found. Also, for the father-in-law of a friend of mine who is in Japan, for God's grace to be upon him for his healing and conversion.
When you read through today's reading, did you think of anyone you knew? Did you think of anyone who needs to hear this message?
Do you think of yourself as you wonder about the trials that you face in your own life? Do you think of a friend or family member who you have been praying for to come to believe in Christ Jesus? Do you think of a friend or family member who needs to be strengthened in their own faith journey?
We have all been called to holiness, and that includes the persecutions that come with being faithful. It includes all the work that we must put into coming to know and understand the Holy Scriptures. It includes remaining faithful to Church teachings and traditions. It includes all these things that we have learned in order to get to heaven. Take care and God Bless.
