Luke 11:37-41
After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who struggle with depression.
10/11/05
Hey, Lord. It's me again. I really need your help. Every time I want to do something for you it always turns into something about me and what I can get out of it. It's really hard to focus and direct my work to be about You alone because there are so many pitfalls.
I know that this morning You reminded me that I need to look at my own heart. I have. Can I ask you a question? May you please heal any brokenness in me? I do not desire to evil things, but my good intentions seem to lead me away from you. I do not desire to displease you, but sometimes I feel that's all I have done.
It's tiring trying to do things on my own. In Your infinite mercy, please take this heart that desires Your goodness and do with it what you will. Lord, I love You; help me to love You more.
Desiring to be Yours, theo
