Matthew 12:46-50
While Jesus was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers appeared outside, wishing to speak with him. Someone told him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, asking to speak with you." But he said in reply to the one who told him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the conversion of those whom you are praying for.
This past weekend I had a chance to visit my brothers, sister-in-law, and nephew. It was only a day trip, but it was something that I wanted to do.
Every night I pray for their conversion, as well as the conversion of the rest of my family. The last time my oldest brother went to mass was 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't know the last time my other brother went to mass, although a few months ago he was really close to going to confession.
It is my desire for them that one day we can share a brotherhood beyond blood: a brotherhood in doing The Father's will. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve with others who have that same desire. I am grateful that we can choose to do the Father's will through Christ's invitation.
Today, let us offer our prayers for those we desire a conversion for so that we may all be brothers and sisters of Christ through Christ. Take care and God Bless.
