Mark 10: 28-31
Peter began to say to Jesus, "We have given up everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come. But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the conversion of hearts for world leaders, that they may work toward defending the dignity of life.
Our faith is full of contradictions: in order to gain riches, you must give what you have away ... the first shall be last ... It all seems to fall out of the realm of human logic. Even when we think of Christ's victory of death, Our Lord had to die.
As I struggle with the ways of God, it's amazing how the struggle can bring light to the beauty of the contradictions of our faith. In my life, the contradictions are an opportunity for faith. In the more I try to abandon my life over, the more God has the opportunity to provide. In the more I try to give what I have as a gift, the more I am made rich in trust and love of Our Lord.
I desire to continue embracing the contradiction of our faith, for it points to embracing the contradiction of the cross, the great treasure offered by Christ. Take care and God Bless.
